Client feedback

Gillian and Curtis provide an excellent service to the trustees. They are approachable and possess a huge amount of knowledge. Everything appears to work smoothly which I am sure is due to the immense amount of work they do in the background to ensure all paperwork is available and up to date.

In my experience, not all professional trustees are able to cope with tricky or potentially confrontational situations. I find PSGS has massive experience in getting involved, earning the respect of others and resolving such issues. They get stuck in – they are a first rate team.

Partner at Sackers & Partners
Appointing Kevin as KBC professional trustee was one of the best decisions the bank took. He complements the other two trustees and also appreciates the position of the employer too. The experience a professional trustee adds is invaluable and they can share their knowledge and market practice within the KBC plan. Kevin manages the budget in consultation with the bank, fully debriefs all parties and maintains a constant dialogue with myself (as HR Manager) and trustees. Since we have worked together for a number of years, Kevin also appreciates some of the limitations we face ie budgets, and always comes up with a proactive approach and solution. His input is particularly valued by the bank trustee who is an actuary in our pensions department in Belgium Head Office.

Ann is very proactive and ensures we address all issues well ahead of time and extremely efficiently.

PS Independent Trustees (PSIT) has appointed Clare Owen as Director of Outsourced Pensions, based in our Wokingham office.

Clare has over 30 years’ experience in the pensions industry and moved from Mercer where she was UK Leader for Governance and Trustee Services. She will be responsible for the trustee secretarial, pensions management and scheme governance services.

Commenting on the appointment, Wayne Phelan, PSIT’s Managing Director, said: “Regulatory pressure on all forms of pension scheme continues to grow and, with this, we have seen an increasing demand from employers and pension trustee boards for pensions expertise to help them manage their arrangements. Outsourcing roles such as scheme secretary, pensions management and governance oversight has proved to be a particularly effective and cost efficient way of accessing this expertise, and it is a growing part of our business.

Clare brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will benefit our clients and the PSIT team as we continue to invest in and grow our business in this key area of outsourced services.”

Clare commented: “There were two very good reasons why I joined PSIT. Wayne Phelan’s commitment to the business and to investing in it was the first. The second was the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced independent trustees, which was something new for me and which seemed a really interesting backdrop for developing outsourced services.”
