Appointing Kevin as KBC professional trustee was one of the best decisions the bank took. He complements the other two trustees and also appreciates the position of the employer too. The experience a professional trustee adds is invaluable and they can share their knowledge and market practice within the KBC plan. Kevin manages the budget in consultation with the bank, fully debriefs all parties and maintains a constant dialogue with myself (as HR Manager) and trustees. Since we have worked together for a number of years, Kevin also appreciates some of the limitations we face ie budgets, and always comes up with a proactive approach and solution. His input is particularly valued by the bank trustee who is an actuary in our pensions department in Belgium Head Office.

These days, Boards need real expertise on tap (with excellent back-up) to cope with a constantly evolving and more regulated environment. PSGS is geared to delivering that.

Gillian and Curtis provide an excellent service to the trustees. They are approachable and possess a huge amount of knowledge. Everything appears to work smoothly which I am sure is due to the immense amount of work they do in the background to ensure all paperwork is available and up to date.
Ian Woods,
KGPT trustees
In my experience, not all professional trustees are able to cope with tricky or potentially confrontational situations. I find PSGS has massive experience in getting involved, earning the respect of others and resolving such issues. They get stuck in – they are a first rate team.

PS Independent Trustees (PSIT) has appointed Simon Riviere - a professional pension trustee with over 25 years of experience - as a scheme manager based in the Wokingham office. He joins from Pitmans Trustees (PTL). His expertise extends to both defined benefit and defined contribution, and he has worked with schemes ranging in size from £5-500 million.

Simon will work with trustee clients and scheme sponsors to help them manage the challenges their pension schemes face. He will also work closely with other pension advisers to develop new, targeted solutions to changing regulatory demands.

Commenting on the appointment, Wayne Phelan, PSIT’s Managing Director, said: “It is great to welcome Simon to the team, particularly as we enter our 20th year. The pensions world is always changing, and this demands the continual evolution of the services and solutions needed to effectively support pension scheme trustees and sponsors. Simon’s broad knowledge and experience will help deliver this.”

Simon said: “I believe pension schemes should benefit from the very highest quality service and advice, and was keen to join PSIT as they are known for delivering this to clients. The PSIT team are great and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can develop new ways of helping clients meet their objectives effectively and ensuring scheme members understand the value of their benefits.“
